Year 4 Classifies Living Things in Local Science Study

In science this week, Year 4 have been busy grouping and classifying living things by observing their characteristics and using these to create classification keys. Pupils identified vertebrates, invertebrates, flowering plants, and non-flowering plants found in the local area.
After naming and sorting the organisms, the children collected data on how many of each group they observed. This hands-on investigation helped deepen their understanding of biodiversity and how scientists organise living things.
Year 4 showed excellent observation skills and scientific thinking throughout the activity — a brilliant example of learning in action!
