Uniform Information
All items of uniform must be clearly labelled with your child’s full name or surname initial. If using recycled uniform, please update the name label—even for siblings.
Where to Purchase
- Most items can be bought from high street retailers (e.g., Asda, Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Next, Primark).
- School-branded items, ties, and house-colour PE shirts are available from:
- School ties are also available from the School Office, which holds a selection of quality second-hand uniforms donated by parents.
Daily Uniform
Required:
- Grey or black skirt, pinafore, or trousers
- Grey or black socks or tights
- Plain black shoes (no canvas shoes, trainers, fashion shoes, or boots)
- Short or long-sleeved white school shirts
(Reception may wear plain white or green polo shirts) - Dosthill Primary Academy tie (from Year 1 upwards; optional in Reception)
- Green jumper or cardigan (with or without school logo)
Optional:
- Green, black, or white hairbands
- Green and white gingham summer dress with white socks
- Tailored shorts and plain white or green polo shirts (summer only)
PE Kit
Required:
- Plain coloured T-shirt in house colours (optional with logo)
Plain black or white T-shirts are acceptable; football shirts and slogan tops are not - Black or white trainers (different from daily shoes)
Pumps/plimsolls are fine for most EYFS activities - Plain black or green shorts/leggings for indoor PE (e.g., gymnastics) or outdoor PE in warm months
- Plain grey, black, or green jogging bottoms and tops for outdoor PE in colder months
Swimming kit
Required:
- Trunks or swimsuit (no baggy shorts or costumes)
- Swimming hat
- Towel
Coats and Outdoor Clothing
Required:
- Warm, waterproof coat (or fleece and coat combo) for winter
- Waterproof coat year-round (e.g., packable coat for light showers)
- Wellington boots, hats (winter and summer), scarves, gloves as needed
Jewellery
- One pair of small, discreet studs may be worn if ears are pierced
Studs must be removed or taped for PE and removed for swimming
